Coronavirus update 5/16/2020
In response to the ruling of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court decision yesterday, Shawano:Church on the Hill and Red River: Salem United Methodist Churches continue ONLINE weekly worship on Sunday, Prayer Closet on 5th Street daily, and Young Disciples Zooming with the Pastor mid-week, along with other life giving ministries that have been adapted for safety. The decision comes out of an abundance of care for the entire community. Until the Administrative Councils meet to consider various sources of information, and develop a plan for gathering again, the church buildings remain closed. Our faith family continues to bring hope and compassion to the struggling.
If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Claudia Deede.
Remember to lift our Breakthrough Prayer daily at 9:11 AM & 9:11 PM:
Holy and generous God, guide us to connect our purpose with You and Your will, that our relationship may flourish, leading us into a breakthrough year of growth and service, exceeding our dreams and expectations.
Amen.
Important Announcement Regarding COVID-19
More news on our response to the COVID-19 virus. Gov. Tony Evers declared a health emergency for our state yesterday and President Trump declared a national emergency today which was followed by the news that Shawano Schools are closed beginning today and potentially through April 14.
Shawano: Church on the Hill and Red River: Salem will suspend face-to-face worship beginning this Sunday and continuing through the month of March. There will also be no gatherings/activities in either church until the suspension is lifted. Pastor Claudia will be posting a weekly message here on this Facebook page.
This decision should help slow the progress of the virus and help the vulnerable among us. If you are able to help someone without internet access keep connected, please do so.
A letter has been mailed to all members and friends of the churches with more details.
Pastor Claudia can be reached by messaging this page if you have specific concerns or questions.
Please pray with me for our churches, our community, our state, our country, and the world as we “prepare but don’t panic” in this unusual situation.
Be a blessing to someone today and every day!
